Shamrock in the shade, Kas Caeda, is a singer songwriter and emerging indie artist who is committed to making songs which echo a moment or a feeling in free fall.  

Kas began writing under a different name while living life as an environmental scientist. Originally a native of the city of Melbourne, Kas relocated to Sydney for schooling while later immersing himself as singer songwriter in gigging indie bands for a decade. Moving from these live performance roots to electro-organic studio sounds recalling Jeff Buckley, Thom Yorke, and The National his music career has begun to show more promise. 

His 2022 debut single "Greenwood River" is an escapist tribute to his past, a defiant journey to connect with the spirits of the lost and deceased at a remote river. The song became a finalist in the 2023 Listen Up Music’s Australian Song Contest for independent artists. Kas began writing in earnest and collaborating to find his walls and voice with the assistance of good humans — Buenos Aires multi-instrumentalist, Sergio di Martino and Blue Mountains based audio engineer / producer, Jase De Wilde.

Kas Caeda’s sound fuses the pulses of old analogue electronica with the heart of alternative rock, blue soul, chamber and indie. Blending genres, Kas shapes immersive sonics that might be played in a basement venue or a more introspective space like a car or bedroom. 

Inspired by the imaginations and work ethics of globally revered artists like, Sam Cooke, John Lennon, Nina Simone, David Bowie, PJ Harvey, Angie McMahon, Billie Eillish, Neil Finn and Paul Kelly, Kas Caeda is motivated by similar energies with his own craft….
