A Proud Failure

I’m Nicotine Nightmare. I don’t have many good things to say about myself, because I’m a nightmare. My best friend is a slime, and his name is Darkly. When I’m not disassociating, you’ll often find me in the studio creating synth-heavy dubstep with upbeat melodies and dissonant lyrics. I grew up in a small town with a tiny school and people with tiny hearts, and I often think that music saved me. I was born and raised into systemic abuse and am afflicted with several neurodivergences that put life on hard mode, and my goal is to bring a moment of peace to the souls that are like mine. I see music as a way to express my experiences to my fans, translating and transcribing my memories and dreams into soundwaves, and bringing a shred of peace to other people that have also lived through a nightmare.
 
Inspiration can be a rare thing, but I find it everywhere. From the musicians who taught me how to live, to people who no longer walk among us. I’m inspired by whispers in the wind, the ghosts that walk among us, the flame from a candle, the beauty of hopelessness, and the magic from the sky to the earth. In my music, you may hear a happy melody accompanied by tales of my bittersweet night terrors, or ravings inspired by scribbles on 4th century parchment that speaks of ancient blessings and curses. Life’s a nightmare, but you’ll get through it. I hope you find what you’re looking for.
