Sounds Like A Prayer   

I stand out in the night and talk out loud about things that are on my mind; 
Things that I am thankful for and things I can’t define.
And it sounds like a prayer; and you don’t realize you were praying;
It just sounds like a prayer.

Trees and mountains and stars above always give me cheer;
Dogs and cats make me laugh and wind chimes always catch my ear;
It all sounds like a prayer; and you don’t realize you were praying;
It just sounds like a prayer.

A wise man said to pray without ceasing which seems a bit absurd;
Unless he was referring to the thoughts in your mind not just spoken words;
And that sounds like a prayer; that you don’t realize you were praying;
It just sounds like a prayer.

Sometimes it seems the most meaningful prayers don’t require words
Just a language from deep in the heart no ears have ever heard.

I memorized words and read some others and appreciate what they say;
But when the words emerge from deep inside 
they come in a more personal way;
And it sounds like a prayer; that you don’t realize you were praying;
It just sounds like a prayer; it sound like a prayer

Our Father who art in heaven hallowed be thy name;
Your kingdom come, your will be done on earth as it is in heaven;
Give us this day our daily bread and forgive us of our debts
As we have also forgiven our debtors;
And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil
For yours is the kingdom, the power and the glory forever;
And ever;  Amen.
Forever and ever…. Amen…..
