Sonni Quick Story -  Mia

This is Mia. She tragically died Monday night when a truck with 4 men out partying intentionally ran her down, circled around and ran her over again as my son and his girlfriend watched. They were out of town and stopped to get gas and Mia jumped out of the truck after being cooped up for two days. My son was heartbroken. It was painful to hear his grief.

Mia was 11. When she was a tiny pup he found her by the side of the road in NM. Far away from a town someone must have dumped her there. She was almost dead from lack of food and water. My son immediately took her to a vet and hadn't planned on keeping her but the vet convinced him, after he saved her, to take her home. His children were ecstatic and his daughter Moya named her Mia. So I did what I usually do and poured my emotions into music.

Pets are often like family members and losing them can be very difficult. I told my son she had 11 years she would not have had, just like myself. I first saw her about 15 months after my liver transplant. I am grateful for these years and I am sure, so was Mia. Think of the years she had, not the years she lost. Rest in Peace, Mia.

My Story - Dusty the great

When I was in my teens I had a great cat called Dusty. One day he never came home. I already knew mentally something was wrong. But nothing prepared me for that day when I came home from school riding my bike next to the busy road. There he was my poor buddy. Lying on the side of the road. He was missing for a few days so he was frozen stiff. I still have this image of him in my head when I think about it. I felt so guilty not being around when he died. Stupid road and cars. Reading Sonni Quick story reminded me of this and don't get me started about the senseless act of violence! Rest in peace dear pets.

Dusty & Mia feat Sonni Quick

One of more aggressive remixes from the past. Around 2012 I think.

Jimi's Red House was one of my first introduction to the blues genre when I was in my teens learning the guitar. No matter what style is rocking the pop charts I can always go back to Jimi's music, his stuff is timeless like so many other good artists from the past.  There is that certain flair that good music from the past has. Even if you have all the high tech stuff, you still can't reproduce all that fine music from the past! True I'm a modern remixer but still also have strong roots to all the goldies from the past. Really love that era!
