Here he continues on his journey of vulnerability and opens up even more about how much he misses his love. With backing vocals from 4løve’s Edward Amporful who talks about nostalgia and a never ending yearning for love in his verse.

The tape opens with a voicemail filled with assurances of a love that’ll last forever. She ends with “I will hold you in my heart until I can hold you in my arms again” which gives us the idea that the girl in question isn’t with the one she loves at the moment and misses him.

Monalisa starts with the phrase “I ain’t a guitar but I’ll pull a couple of strings for you Dionne” which is the first mention of a name for this mystery girl viceroy keeps singing about. It is a love song as opposed to the latter 2 which are all about letting go and focusing on other things after a heartbreak. Monalisa is the artists way of telling the world that eventhough he’s moved on from loving her deep down hell always have feelings for her.

This song is the final piece of the puzzle where he finally admits that despite all that’s happened he’s still gonna love her like there’s no tomorrow. The song starts with vocals from the talented bully, who talks about being labelled as “broken”.

This is the first song off Viceroy’s prima facie mixtape, a hip hop inspired song about letting go. Which is a far cry away from the intro in which he was being assured that they’d be together forever. This is kind of an anticlimactic way of telling everyone that nothing lasts forever and it’s better to move on than to be stuck in transient feelings of love and pain.

Note to Self

Obianuju is a name from the Igbo tribe of Nigeria which means Abundance. In this Song he talks about the girl who is the main subject of this entire mixtape in a new light referring to her as his everything.

In prima facie viceroy finally opens up about his feelings. Eventhough the first two songs were about how much he’s moved on this song shows that he hasn’t really done that quite yet and is still on the fence about moving on. It’s a retrospective song about his unrequited love for her.
