Dragon Fire

The setting is bleak and desperate but the feeling of strength and determination is a thread that weaves throughout. A concept born from reality follows a child growing up both with and without a family. Subject to a failing foster care system and a dark age of mental health treatment he struggles to find stability and compassion. While the album is specific to a time and place we believe there is a universal truth embedded within the tracks that has been felt by everyone.

When writing the music for Highway 19 we pushed for something different and unique. The realities of life in Covid-19 changed how we were able to rehearse and create but it made the time we had a melting pot of ideas. The lyrics in much of the album reflect the current social landscape that we find ourselves in: opioid addiction, climate change, political unrest.
