Solid Grooves drop their latest Summer Sampler to close August as Michael Bibi and PAWSA invite a selection of the scene’s finest to deliver the label’s 2021 instalment.

An annual fixture in the calendar for many, Solid Grooves’ summer Various Artist offering welcomes a project showcasing a UK label at the forefront of the scene. Having recently returned as a family across sold out shows in London and Bristol, late August welcomes this year’s highly-anticipated drop from a wealth of SG favourites and close friends.

Offering up a combination of up-front and more minimal-leaning productions, co-founders Michael Bibi and PAWSA step out alongside residents Bassel Darwish, Blackchild (ITA), Eddy M, Ramin Rezaie and Reelow, plus 2021 guests Carloh, Detlef and Wheats, to deliver a ten track package you won’t want to sleep on.

For nearly a decade, Lauren Lane has been a standout artist in the thriving house music scene, both in the US and internationally, gracing iconic global venues such as Club Space (Miami), Warung (Brazil), Amnesia (Ibiza), Womb (Tokyo) to name a few, plus festival appearances at Glastonbury, Coachella and Tomorrowland. Definitely Guille & George are having their momentum: it started with 'What A Bam' late 2017, in 2018 they released in great labels like Sola, Glasgow Underground or Superfett among others and this year they did it again with 'The Sonic Busters'. Also they are managing La Pera Records, one of the most successful Spanish labels and both are touring around the world as Djs. 

Now is time for their brand new EP on elrow music and we are really excited for this. 'Cha Cha Cha' is pure Placencia & Privatti sound: awesome groove, well-chosen vocal sample and really effective breakdowns, 100%% dancefloor killer track. The second of two special remix EPs in the build-up to Moon Harbour’s 20th-anniversary celebrations is from Andrea Oliva. He has appeared on Orbiter and Inhouse compilations on the label before and now remixes fellow mainstay Daniel Stefanik, whose big ‘Deep Inside’ track first landed in summer 2017.

The next release on Libero comes courtesy of Italian, Enrico Bellan. Returning to the label after a couple of sensational previous offerings, Enrico’s latest EP is a welcomed solo debut for the Rovigo native. Featuring a trio of original works, ‘Jump Ahead EP’ oozes with Mediterranean flair and an undeniable coolness throughout - whilst retaining plenty of signature Libero traits.

Getting things moving, ‘Jump Ahead’ is a well-structured groove. Layers of precisely panned percussive elements create a fresh rhythm that is just as addictive as it is enjoyable. Using atmospheric background sampling to give the track a crisp top-end, it’s perpetual momentum will keep you moving till it finishes.

‘What Did Jack Do’ moves through the gears, bringing a more up-tempo level of gusto to the table. Scattered hats, shakers and tambourines sizzle right through the heart of its robust low-frequency flow. Tonal toms and bright sub-bass drive some melody into the mix, rounding off this pleasant terrace weapon.

Last, but by no means least, ‘One Saliva Bubble’ takes a darker approach. Very much tribal in feeling, the track has a hypnotic sense of rhythm through melodic instruments as opposed to the traditional drum and percussion methodology. An eerie and darkened jungle type atmosphere fits perfectly with the stomping jibe brought on by the track’s high level of oomph.
