Artist, producer and songwriter Bill C Da Don is no stranger to a recording studio. While some new artists may shy away from the mic, Bill C embraces it. Being
engulfed by sound, surrounded by melodic tunes crafted at his hand, provides a familiarity stronger than home.
Born in 1986, William “Bill C” Perkins’ journey to musical greatness began under the eye of his father, a local, well­known disc jockey in the greater St. Louis area.
But it was Bill’s older cousins who introduced him to the process of making music. From this first hand encounter with music he, in a sense, lost his virginity; loving Music before understanding what love or Music was. And he had to have her.
At 14, Bill C became serious about being an artist. And with some hand­me­down turn tables from his father, a tape recorder and a mic, Bill C begin rapping and singing over instrumentals directly onto the recorder. He linked up with a few neighborhood kids and starting collaboratively producing tracks and selling them on the internet. It wasn’t long before Bill C became the go­to guys for quality beats and recording in the St. Louis area. While enrolled in Jackson State University, Bill C begin producing for some of the hottest artists in the south. And, upon returning St. Louis, begin opening up for some of hip hops hottest performers, including Lil John and the Eastside Boyz, Lil Flip, David Banner, Bun B, 8Ball and MJG and many more.
In 2013, Bill C and his business partner, Nathaniel Momon, founded Innovative Music Global and, a year later, partnered with PMAD, People Making a Difference, and its creator Kerwin Stanley. The teams collaborative effort contributed to the launch of Bill C Da Don; a lighthouse in the foggy sea of hip hop.
In 2014, Bill C Da Don released his first single "Mr. Rogers”, a precursor to his EP Bigger Than Life.
And, this fall, he will embark on the Frivolous Tour, a 12 city, nationwide tour.
With his feet planted on the ground and his head in the clouds, Bill C Da Don heads down the path to greatness with two ideas in mind; that timeless music is the foundation of everything and that, in order to stand out in the industry today, you must be bigger than life.
