A story of a girl trying to kill a guy to make him hers inspires Japanese singer-songwriter Re:O.  “失楽園” (Shitsuraku-en, Paradise Lost) represents a toxic relationship and the cruelty of love. American music maker Tokyo Elvis and her team up and bring dark vibes music. This intense beats shows anger and suffering for a person being in a toxic relationship. Ronin’ lyrics describe being betrayed by those closest to you and forging your new path with revitalized meaning and proving those who betrayed your trust wrong. Ronin explores the crippling self doubt and self immolation that afflicts us after being betrayed by those we trust and look up to. It then explores the exhilarating emotions of self discovery, finding a sense of belonging and confidence. This story is captivated using the imagery of a masterless samurai - The Ronin. The Haunted will hook any fan of Metal, Alternative Metal, Industrial Metal, Post-Hardcore, Nu-Metal, J-Pop or Dark pop and would suit any playlist in these genres.  

'The Haunted' is a gripping and relatable journey exploring internal turmoil and struggle of coming to terms with the crippling effects of depression and how it affects you, your life and feeling alone. The lyrics tell a story in the first person explaining how isolated you feel and how toxic this condition is, exploring themes of self hatred, self harm and wanting nothing more than to feel safe, loved and to belong. You are Haunted by this spectre, holding you back. This story’s impact is amplified by Rio’s powerful vocals weaving around the melodies and layered instrumentation that creates a terrifying and oppressive atmosphere highlighting the feeling of hopelessness. The chorus then pulls the instrumentation together, working to uplift the section in a sense of almost realisation and bring clarity to the aforementioned chaos.

Re:O was founded in 2020 by singer and multi- instrumentalist Rio in Tokyo, Japan. She composed, produced and released 'きのシルエッ ト (Sorrow's Silhouette)' in 2020 and 'GUILD' in 2021.

In 2023 Re:O reformed in the UK and in 2024 released 'Stains On My Soul' and 'Ronin' solidifying the new high energy direction for Re:O.
