Balraj ‘DHOLMACHINE’ Bansal is a Leeds born and bread Dhol Player and Music Producer that is taking the Bhangra & percussion world by storm.

From a very young age Balraj has always been interested in some sort of musical participation. Whilst others were out during their school holidays, Balraj would be listening to different genres of music and trying to work out compositions that were being played in various bhangra tracks. The 80/90’s was a massive era for Bhangra and from then, Balraj decided that he wanted to become part of the bhangra movement and join the musical family.

Balraj has not come from musical family and has relied totally on creativity. At the age of 7, balraj was gifted with his first ever instrument, the Dhol and it was from here that Balraj started his musical journey. 

As time went on, Balraj progressed and through trial, error & practice he progressed onwards and upwards to become one of the most deadliest Dhol Players in the UK which has given him the name ‘Dhol Machine’. He had shared the stage with many people including Jazzy B, JK, Kulwinder Billa, Angrej Ali, Aman Hayer, Heera, Shin DCS, Sardara Gill, Balwinder Safri and many more

Balraj had a dream that he wanted to create a sound for the people out there and worked hard towards composing, constructing and producing a track. Balraj sat down and thought this through, which led him to the birth of ‘DholStrumentals’, which is available on iTunes, Google Play and other reputable digital outlets (https://itunes.apple.com/gb/album/dholstrumentals-single/id1090771010?ls=1)

In 2019, he released the second single called DholStrumentals (Stage 2) and is now working on many more projects which will be released soon! His main influence's has been the old skool bhangra, especially Sukshinder Shinda, PMC, Tru Skool, Kaos Productions.

Balrajs love for music has led him to create the ‘Dhol Network’ on the social media outlet, Facebook. This enabled drummers around the world to connect and promote their services and drums in one place. Balraj is lead drummer for the collective, Drumnamix.
