Big news at Fckng Serious! The founding father of our beloved label, Boris Brejcha, returns to his roots after his time at Ultra Music and releases on his own label Fckng Serious.
On June 10, after a 4-year hiatus, his first original single will be released on the label he founded in 2015. In the meantime, he still contributed remixes for his label colleagues Moritz Hofbauer and Theydream. For the new single, he picked two songs that many fans have been waiting for a very long time.
"Up Down Jumper" and "Keep Rollin" are two of the tracks Boris currently plays at every gig. Tomorrowland (Belgium), EDC Las Vegas (United States), Kappa Futur (France), Ushuaia (Spain) at his own shows around the world and currently on his tour through Colombia, Peru, Brazil and the USA, these tracks are an important part of his show. Of course, the two tracks were also part of his latest livestream for Cercle live from the arena in Nimes.
Musically, we can expect a lot from this release. The title track "Up Down Jumper" is a classic Boris track and has 100% Joker sound. "Keep Rollin" also stamps its mark on every electro fan with its exciting break and driving sequences.
Fckng Serious is very happy about his return and solemnly welcomes (back) the Master of High-Tech-Minimal.

Our releases

post apocalyptic - hello strange podcast #538

We probably don't need to tell you who Deadbeat is. (He even did a previous RA Podcast for us, all the way back in 2007.) But if you need a refresher, he's one of the most important and revered artists in dub techno. The Canadian artist came up in the Montreal scene alongside other trailblazers like Akufen and other Canadians (think Cobblestone Jazz, Mathew Jonson, Wagon Repair, etc). His early records for ~scape are some of the most classic and influential minimal there ever was, but dub is always at the heart of his work, and runs in the veins of BLKRTZ, the prolific label he runs himself.

Sa Pa, on the other hand, sits somewhere in the ambient zone. Originally from Adelaide, he's found a powerful creative sparring partner in Deadbeat. The two released their first album together, The Mountain, earlier this year. It's the 50th release on BLKRTZ and maybe one of the most monumental records in either artist's catalogue, a triple-LP that harks back to the hypnotic, plink-plonk days of yore with the strong cross-genre underpinning that marks Deadbeat's work these days, and plenty of lovely atmospheric wiggles.

The duo's lengthy RA Podcast, taken from two different recordings at their Absurd Dub Lustre party in Berlin, mirrors the LP's sound, weaving through tracks new and old. It's full of warm, dubby vibrations and smooth transitions.

Human Endeavour is the newest addition to Ransom Note Records’ family of sub-labels. Curated and run by Ransom Note Editor, and one half of DJ duo Kiara Scuro, Rosie Ama Cain, the label will be a 'space for artists who are exploring the dark, deep and hypnotic corners of the musical spectrum.'

Though it will swirl around the sounds that inform her DJ sets, including but not limited to minimal wave, acid, chugging rhythms, UK techno, EBM and post-punk, the output will also echo her freeform approach to DJing, primarily being driven by mood and feeling rather than genre tags.

For the inaugural release, six artists have come together for ‘Trains Of Thought’: a Various Artists EP that gives a window into some of the sounds, styles and names that you’ll be hearing on the label in the future.

'VAV’ by Albino Sound is a slice of metallic UK techno that showcases the Tokyo-based producer's deftness at sound design. Full of clangs, bleeps and sounds, these textural elements are propped up by staccato drum programming and a bouncy low-end.
