His only phobia is of spiders above a certain size, which will def occur in this mix at some point. Furthermore, it's again a fierce collage concept. A sultry, mad, flaming, desperate river of no return.....

» This sonic landscape is a musical odyssey into a distant realm and its hidden memories — a tribute to nature's relentless brutality as well as its beauty, to an everlasting cycle of of extreme conditions that shape an unforgiving landscape. Our latest Stan Radio guest mix comes from DJ FATi, aka Phoebé Guillemot, the creative force behind the sonic realms of RAMZi, BigBird, Houti and many others.

Perhaps best known for her releases as RAMZi, Phoebé’s production style has been described as a ‘fusion of psychoactive sounds’, ‘hi-fi meets lo-fi’, ‘new Canadian rhythms’, and ‘tropical psychedelic ambient soundscapes’, she isn’t easily categorised (for those that like to).

Since 2013, she has released music on labels such as RVNG Intl., Mood Hut and 12th isle, amongst others, and recently started her own label, FATi Records in 2018, a ‘Label encouraging a system of harmonious interspecies communication’.

Phoebé is also one half of Jumanji, part of the goup New World Science, and recently collaborated on a release with last month’s contributor Suzanne Kraft.

This month's mix is a journey that twists and turns and keeps you guessing. An original and unpredictable trip, in a similar vein to Phoebé's productions.

Continuing on with our isolation appropriation, we’ve got another amazing audible escape from the madness. This time it’s more of an internal look into way things are and/or the way things were. 
This time coming from Los Angeles via Alanñé, a multi-sensory extraordinaire that delivered us an absolute melter of a mix. Simply dubbing this a ‘mix’ does not do it justice, its more of an exploration through every soundscape known in existence, an audible tapestry, consisting of sound bites, field recordings, ambient dreamscapes, noise, drone, thoughts, and processes. I’d consider this something you would hang in a gallery for people to enjoy it in their own way and in their own time. Without further ado, I invite you to do just that.

In this mix, we concentrated on tonal distancing by blending a 4 hour cut of sounds are that are growing, environmental, mystical, natural, synthetic and clean. This is not music concerned with entertaining our conscious selves. Instead, it’s designed to brush up against our unconscious - those same places where we process memory, fantasies, and dreams.  
Featuring moments from artists such as Dettinger, DJ Olive and John Philip Sousa along with dear friends Worldcom, Forest Management, Spirituals and Magnetic Dispatch, to name a few. 5 unreleased tracks from Alanñé are sprinkled in. 
We dedicate this mix to the famous amusement artist Cecil Yarbrough, who we thought about a lot as we made it.
