자연과 문화라는 영역은 언제나 그렇듯 서로에게 이율배반적이었다. 우리가 고유한 자연이라 여겨왔던 것들은 문화의 영역에서 작용해왔고, 문화의 영역이라 여겨왔던 것들이 자연이기도 했다. 같은 맥락에서 서울이라는 기형적 메트로폴리스 또한 자연이다. 무수한 LED 간판들과 전봇대들, 좁은 골목의 끝까지 뻗어있는 포장 도로들, 건물의 내부를 적나라하게 드러내 보이는 쇼윈도와 파사드는 우리를 사방으로 둘러싸 숲을 이룬다. 일렉트로니카는 이 숲에서 울려퍼지는 자연의 소리이다. 이 자연-문화, 숲-도시, 플라스틱 밤부(plastic bamboo)에서.

Harmony with nature is like this. Year after year, more details about a specific area, reaching "how far it has come". It is a continuation of the same type in Seoul. “We are focusing our attention on LED-led electric poles, advertisements and THAAD, which have a high impact on us. Electronica makes no sound in this forest. This nature-culture, the rook-city, bamboo (plastic bamboo).

Make some space under the Christmas tree for the fifth SOMEWHERE compilation and our last release of this year. Among the 12 strong contributions we'll find familiar faces & label stalwarts such as Sigward, Bas Dobbelaer and the French Laura BCR, who earlier this year released the excellent Initial-EP.

There are also some new faces on SOMEWHERE V. Among them Paul Twin, known for his psychedelic techno on the Rotterdam based label Nous'klaer. Paul's contribution 'Callisto' is a mysterious ambient track with floating strings and a slow-motion bassline. The cinematographic Molniya Trip of Vand has a similar vibe. Beautiful and intricate ambient.

SohaSo has always been a breeding pond for new electronic talents and on SOMEWHERE V that is no different. Besides the dreamy shift+ of the talented Sabine Swills and the highly theatrical Scene 2 of Utrecht based producer Rochat we'll find a third new face on this tape: Null Wave. His compilation closer Lizard Person nods to both Squarepusher and Arca and is, with Luke Abbott's remix of Andi Mullers Comedown, one of the few danceable tracks on this tape.
Introvert beauty dominates on SOMEWHERE V, which makes this compilation perfectly suited for the dark and intimate weeks ahead of us.

VytisVA & La'Shaour are joining their musical fronts again to create a musical exploration which focusses on Lithuanian folklore. This time the guys are presenting three tracks plus remix from S Gytis with focus on modern electronic music merged with Lithuanian magic verbal charms. 
The inspiration for the release came from various Lithuanian charms like incantations, prayers to the old gods, and other magical rituals. Therefore they came up with the name Incantations for their EP, which is going to be available in vinyl and digital formats. 
Incantations are unique Lithuanian folklore texts and represent a closed tradition. By using these charms, you can expect to change physical and spiritual realms. The existence of these charms assumes that the words contain an exceptional spiritual power, which can influence people, mythical beings, objects and natural phenomena.
As Ramu Records crew, we believe in a sustainable future of vinyl record production. Therefore we are proud to say that for Incantations EP, we are using a factory which takes responsibility in lowering pollution rates and decreasing waste while working with sustainable technology.
