Following his much-loved remixes of Maribou State and ODESZA released on Anjunadeep in 2015, label favourite Daniel Goldstein aka Lane 8 returns with two stellar reworks of George FitzGerald’s 2017 anthem ‘Burns’.

Lane 8’s ‘Morning Mix’ is an ode to the lush atmosphere of the original, a highlight from George’s sophomore album ‘All That Must Be’ released earlier this year on Domino. With the original’s mesmerising vocal chops front and centre, Goldstein blends tranquil piano arpeggios and stuttering synth stabs to create a pensive soundscape imbued with melancholy.

The ‘Club Mix’ is a showcase of Lane 8’s trademark sound. Detuned chords, void-like atmospheres, and a thumping four-to-the-floor kick drum combine to create a fierce peak-time soundtrack.

Dustycloud - Golden Hour

I wanted to keep this track simple, emotional, and melodic. No big drop. No crazy drum patterns. No insane layering. Just a song that keeps you engaged emotionally but also makes you move. I called it the “Beirut At Night mix” because when I was making it I imagined myself driving down the corniche in Beirut on a beautiful night in Lebanon. Or even down PCH in LA. It’s intention is to be a late night, feel good driving song. Thank you for listening and enjoy :)

Deemie - All I Need (Beirut At Night Mix)

i’m not exactly sure when i wrote this idea, it was one of those lines/melodies i sang all the time for awhile before making it into something. originally it was supposed to be more of a half tempo kinda vibe, but around the beginning of the year when i was making loads of club music i tried bringing it into the house music space and, well... that turned out sick af. anyone who knows me knows that i like music to play in the car and i can 10/10 confirm this smacks in the car, especially at night. 

i love this as a first release for butter beats because it has so much “me” in it but is still a step in a direction that i haven’t been before. for the last 4 years or so, i’ve been letting other people influence and affect my creativity which, in small amounts, is completely fine and normal, but in large amounts pulls you away from being who you really are. the opposite of “belonging” is “fitting in” and since i moved to LA, i felt immense pressure to fit in. that’s why i got out 😬

i’m so grateful for the chance to start butter beats and to have somewhere i can’t release what i want, how i want, and when. producers are artists and deserve the space to grow and explore like any other artist would. we’ve got a lot of music in store for you so... stream “us,” follow @butterbeatsrecs on your favorite social media, and remember: butter doesn’t need to be refrigerated (idk what that means but it sounds goooood lol)
