imagine a world where you're a houseplant. you're stuck inside a house, on a window sill. you can see the real world outside, where you should be, but you have no way of accessing it. your roots cannot penetrate the ceramic pot you've been grown in, your pollen goes untouched by bees or butterflies. you know you will die here, but where will you go? for this is surely hell. 
hark! what might this be? the buzzing and rattling of another plant screaming in terror, being brought into this slow slaughter house?
ah, no... yes, and no. 
it is an other plant, yes -- but over the coming weeks and days, as your captors forget to water you, and you begin to shrink away;
you notice the new plant not only fucking loves it here, it sees itself as one of the captors. a ruler amongst plants.
even as you both shrivel up and die, outside the eye of the neglectful arborist, the other plant curses you for wanting more for the both of you.
