In this very special April 1st episode of Pod Bless the Federation, the Macdonald-Laurier Institute’s head of the Centre for Advancing Canadian Interests Abroad, Shuvaloy Majumdar, is joined by Rob Rosenfeld for a journey into the final frontier. Rosenfeld, a connoisseur of science fiction, is a veritable expert of the very best (and very worst) that the sci fi genre has to offer. Whether its Blake 7, Seaquest DSV, Farscape, Space Precinct, or any of the Cancom tax break series that dominated the 90s, he has seen and analyzed them all to an absurd degree. 

In this episode, Majumdar and Rosenfeld dissect the news that Trekkies are going to be blessed with a new series featuring a 20-years-older Captain Jean-Luc Picard. Although not much is known about this new saga that is still in development, our experts set out to paint a picture of the interplanetary politics that have defined the universe in the period following the Dominion War.
