Guy's mixtape is a tender, sincere journey of diverse, deep cuts, all in the Korean language. Listening to it immediately takes me back to memories of family, youth, and place - like a re-remembered radio station past - a curious feeling of connection, despite me not having heard a single track off the mix before, and not being born on the Korean peninsula, where all these tracks came from. I think that's some kind of testament to the invisible threads of memory that must be linking the diaspora, belying the oceans and borders in between us.
