COLA REN is a music producer and DJ hailing from Guangzhou, whose soundscapes are deeply inspired by her observations of humanity, personal reflections, and transformative travel experiences around the globe. Her music seamlessly blends complex rhythms with organic textures, skillfully navigating genres such as Downtempo, Ambient, Breakbeat, Bass, Dub, Jazz, and Psychedelic. Through her unique sonic approach, COLA REN paints immersive landscapes and emotional hues, leading listeners on a captivating journey through the diverse rhythms and roots of the world.

In 2023, COLA REN co-founded the AMWAV label alongside Youmin Chen and released her debut solo EP, Hailu. This project showcases a rich tapestry of ambient, Balearic, and downtempo influences, characterized by its melodic beauty and spiritual essence, offering a soothing escape for listeners. Upon its release, Hailu garnered support from DJs and radio stations worldwide and received praise from notable music critics, including Shawn Reynaldo, Philip Sherburne, and Joe Delon. The subsequent Hailu Remix compilation, released in June 2024, featured contributions from internationally acclaimed producers such as Salamanda, K-LONE, Al Wootton, Will Hofbauer, Sam Goku, and Knopha.

This spring, COLA REN unveiled her second EP, Forest Drone, on the Munich-based producer Polygonia’s label, QEONE. The EP was highlighted as the cover of Spotify’s official playlist, Fresh Finds Experimental, further establishing her presence in the global music scene. COLA REN has made appearances on esteemed platforms such as Boiler Room, NTS, HÖR, Kiosk Radio, and Balamii, and was invited as a special guest by the UK label Wisdom Teeth to participate in their monthly show on Rinse FM.

Solid Steel (7th October) There are reissue labels out there and then there's Light In the Attic, who have been releasing long forgotten musical gems with the upmost care and attention to detail since 2002. They started with the reissue of albums by The Last Poets and continued with releases from The Free Design, Betty Davis, The Vagrants, Lee Hazlewood, Marcos Valle, Public Image LTD and the recent compilation of music from Vangelis, Ash Ra Tempel, and Popol Vuh. This is what they said about the mix;
"Autumn in Los Angeles leaves something to be desired, so living vicariously through sound will have to suffice. This nostalgic mix, full of mellow yet purposeful tracks, is intended to conjure brisk snappy strolls through fallen leaves, hot toddies in small bars with close friends, listening to records on the floor next to a crackling fire, and other familiar cozy-type feelings that one might be privy to living in a place that has seasons. Various Light In The Attic favourites are scattered amongst conscientious covers and gems from friends across the globe"
