Back in Sydney for Theory Therapy 55. Gillian Campbell aka gillielove is a selector, producer and radio host who has been a fixture of the local scene here for a while now. We’ve been big fans of their mixes, music and Nomad Radio show for ages. Expect an expansive and hypnotic trip, layered vocals and that special ineffable quality that makes all of gillie’s mixes so enveloping. “Light some candles, burn some incense, and listen to this mix while you arrange flowers, drink tea or lay in bed.“

Somewhere 12 comes from spiritual companion Luis Martin Gonzalez. An untraceable lineage of deep, ritualistic musings that goes deep into the bowels of an enveloping, psychoactive listening environment.

On the surface, ceremonious cycles of sound produce a trance-induced delirium. But as these incantations take hold, the spacious repetitions give way to hypnotic visions of an expansive sonic underworld. Buried in the resonant psychedelic vibrations, a palette of wild, ineffable sounds ripple to the surface in sublime iridescence. A total trip.

Yssue takes up the reigns on the next Phase Group Mix.   

A dear friend of the label and a talented producer and DJ, Dima is part of the Esthetic Joys collective that were behind some of the most compelling underground parties in Moscow. Now a resident in Paris after some time living in Armenia, Yssue continues to create his own brand of evocative left field electronic music, the likes of which has been released to great effect on labels such as Paris' Global Warming Records, Belgrade’s YES, Lyon’s Kump and Edinburgh label Sounds of Ogigia.   

His mix for us is a heads-down psychic journey across genres from haunting spoken word through dubbed out post punk, brooding hip hop  and psychedelic downtempo electronics,  all the while with multilingual voices echoing to us from beyond.
