philip sweet - Solo

A little song I wrote back in September of 2023. Inspired by a beauty, who made me think of the Proverbs 31 woman. She brought this song to life, and pretty neat that her birthstone was a ruby. I even bought her a pair of ruby colored shoes. This song will always be very special. It's amazing how those little moments can hit and unexpectedly ignite a song late at night. I love those moments, cause that's what I strive to always remember. She took that picture of me on the Steinway. I hope you enjoy this live recording I did very late last night. Lately I have found it nice to just create melody on my guitars while listening to a string arrangement .I find it relaxing and as the strings caress my ears somethings comes to mind and goes to my fingers. It can happen with just one take once I know what key the string section is in. I was looking at the light out my bedroom window this morning just before sunrise and I found that comforting and beautiful and wanted to create some music for that feeling. To The North

Fell in love with Guitar sounds since I first heard Duane Eddy twanging out Rebel Rouser. Then I heard  Chet Atkins Hi Fi in Focus album. This was back around 1960.Me and my brother Cliff got guitars as soon as we could and started learning ourselves to play some tunes. Now about 60 years later I am still loving it. I lost Cliff last year but his jazz loving influence is still present in my playing. You can just never stop learning new stuff and ways of playing when you love the sound a guitar makes. My son Bryce also fell in love with guitar and he also is a fine singer. Il be also posting some songs that have been able play along with him.I  just hope there are people who will enjoy the music I play and post, thankyou Al Gibbs
