Dust In The Wind

Country acoustic meets hip hop meets techno bass meets a chill 65 bpm in an atmospheric instrumental soundtrack for a foggy ferry crossing.

When fog rolls in, people are happy that the old ferry captain knows the river crossing very well. Thick fog doesn’t stop arrivals and departures on the Fog Bottom Ferry, a fictional name for a ferry that, as a passenger, I also knew very well.

The image of the ferry deck in my cover art doesn’t look like the ferry I took. My Fog Bottom Ferry served a small river town that carried about a dozen cars. To me, its engine sounded similar to a tugboat motor, and was the inspiration for the hip hop beats.

Timelines

I created a backing track basically in B minor but used B Phrygian in parts. The tempo ,feel and mood changed several times.  just wanted to improvise and see if I could change when I should to stay with the grooves through out this experiment. My rhythm guitar track is mainly in quartal harmony.

During my dog sitting days we have been walking a path through the forest and everyday there are more and more fallen leaves covering the path. A beautiful sight and soft ,gentle warning of what is to come .Something to appreciate.

Fesefeldt (1942-2019, a German nuclear physics researcher, and music software developer) from ca 2010's.  Now, a pair of Petrof Mistral 284 modeled grand pianos were used on its recording, the instruments revoiced & reconfigured, as well as the rec setup made by VV.

Country Band, Alabama had a hit with this song. It is one of my wife's favorites and I have often thought about doing an instrumental version with my guitar . I came across a karaoke backing track for it and just thought, why not, I have been putting this one off for too long .It is not a Christmas song per se but is very appropriate for the Season .It is song about Angels and most everyone has one at the top of the Christmas tree.

“Falling In Love Forever” by Luke

Fell in love with Guitar sounds since I first heard Duane Eddy twanging out Rebel Rouser. Then I heard  Chet Atkins Hi Fi in Focus album. This was back around 1960.Me and my brother Cliff got guitars as soon as we could and started learning ourselves to play some tunes. Now about 60 years later I am still loving it. I lost Cliff last year but his jazz loving influence is still present in my playing. You can just never stop learning new stuff and ways of playing when you love the sound a guitar makes. My son Bryce also fell in love with guitar and he also is a fine singer. Il be also posting some songs that have been able play along with him.I  just hope there are people who will enjoy the music I play and post, thankyou Al Gibbs
