This is the patter section of the opening #. Tom Kitt provided the chords, that's my vocal percussion on the track, and Neil Patrick Harris just kept saying,"This needs to be fast, complicated and brilliant." This section alone took two weeks to write.

This was a song I wrote for Lincoln, Nina Rosario's (now extinct) brother in a 2005 draft of In The Heights. The setup: Kevin is handing him the keys to the family business, but Lincoln wants to be a songwriter.
