federico moura was a singer, composer, guitarrist and dressmaker born in october 23, 1951 at the city of la plata, argentina. in 1969 he was part of the group dulcemembriyo and in the mid ‘70s he founded two fashion stores in brazilia, inspired in david bowie and similars artists. in january 1980 he started leading the band new-wave band virus in his origin city with his two brothers: marcelo and julio.

with six studio albums, the band became one of the most important in south america, specially with the records “relax” (1984), “locura” (1985). the band traveled to brazil to record the album “superficies de placer” in 1987, but federico began to have a several fever and cough and he was diagnosed with aids (when aids were a taboo and was a death sentence). after doing some concerts presenting the album, federico isolated himself in may 1988 for a few months, until he died on december 21 at the age of 37. the leader and singer of the band became marcelo moura until today, but the band lost a lot of popularity.

during this isolation, it is believed that federico managed to record some demos on cassette, which were published on youtube in 2008 by an anonymous user.

En 2008, un usuario en YouTube publicó seis canciones que, presuntamente, eran pertenecientes a Federico. "Cruces”, “Esclavo”, “Venganza”, “Llegar al Sol”, “Éxitos” y “Corazón Medieval”, en ese orden, serían seis demos de casete que Federico hizo en su periodo de reposo entre julio y agosto de 1988. Pero se abre debate a la veracidad de lo anteriormente dicho, la voz es distinta a la de Federico en sus últimas presentaciones, o si Federico fue capaz de grabarlas, considerando el estado en el que estaba.

Sin embargo, Fernando Sánchez y Daniel Riera, los autores del libro “Virus, Una Generación” afirman que los demos sí son de Federico. Si bien se menciona la negativa de Julio, Marcelo y Federico (sobrino del mismo Federico), se afirma que sí son pertenecientes a Federico, a partir de los testimonios de Adriana San Román (ex-vestuarista de Virus), Alberto Magñasco (amigo de Federico) y Oscar López (productor ejecutivo de Virus, al que Federico le enviaba sus demos personales). Además de eso, agregan que el demo casete fue encontrado en la casa de Fernando Bustillo (iluminador de Virus y amigo personal de Federico que se turnaba junto a Velia [madre de los Moura] para cuidarlo)
una vez que Fernando falleció por VIH. No solo eso, sino que también se transcriben las letras de “Éxito” y “Llegar al Sol” y se adjudican sus respectivas autorías a Federico. Pero para completarla, Charly García confirma haber tocado el piano en “Llegar al Sol”. No obstante, Pedro Aznár niega que el bajo sea de él y dice que tampoco cree que Charly tocase los pianos ahí. Por último, Quique Mugetti también afirma que en al menos dos de estos demos, la voz es de Federico.
