My wife and I have lost 3 grandparents through the course of 2021. All three of them were wonderful people who left beautiful legacies. This series "gpts" will seek to celebrate each of them individually.
Elizabeth Denny was proud of her Scandinavian heritage, so this track includes a "skol!" chant in the beat. She also loved playing and singing hymns and the concluding piano part of this track was one that she chose for her own funeral. This song is upbeat through the middle in an effort to demonstrate the joy her and her husband Bob had a reputation for spreading throughout their lives.

Ronald Miller was a gentle and kind-hearted person who loved his wife and children deeply. He took immense pride in his Iowa farm and tended it with care, love, and respect for the vast majority of his life. This song attempts to recreate a small slice of the beauty present in midwestern farmland.

This series "gpts" will seek to celebrate each of them individually. Jack Cleasby dove deeply into the career of civil engineering throughout the course of his full life. His specialty was in the field of providing clean water in places where it was not so readily available. Thus, the light splashing sounds tucked into the background of this piece. But his illustrious career as a professor only told a piece of his story. He was a welcoming and caring person who loved his family and others deeply. A picture of that tenderness can be found in his love for dancing with his wife, Donna. Thus, this song is written in the traditional time signature of a waltz.
