I thought i'd title this mix after a book title, and the four topics it covers, which inspire me most.

The Quadrivium—the classical curriculum—comprises the four liberal arts of number, geometry, music, and cosmology. It was studied from antiquity to the Renaissance as a way of glimpsing the nature of reality. Geometry is number in space; music is number in time; and cosmology expresses number in space and time. Number, music, and geometry are metaphysical truths: life across the universe investigates them; they foreshadow the physical sciences.

This weekend, though, will be a special one for the long-haired bass dropper, as he headlines Lucidity Festival in California.

I try to keep my head down and not pay too much attention to numbers or reception, as I think those can distract and displace one's priorities, but also because sometimes it can be downright overwhelming. Once in a while I look up and see people listening all around the world and just feel a gratitude so deep and poignant that the only thing I can think to do to process it is just make more music.
