I made a beat a few days ago, realized that it could work well with a slightly faster Lavender Town, and attempted to make this a bop. 
I think I've succeeded in that regard :)

Hey all! First real project of 2022!
I know I'm uber late to the FNF party, but hey I think I did well on this. 
I sampled 3 parts of Ugh from Kawai Sprite (Ugh, and metal slams)
I also borrowed Rushjet1's FDS thing from his work "FDX", since it matched the quieter guitar part pretty well. 
This took me 2.5 days to complete. Oof now I can work on other stuff lol

Friday Night Funkin' Week 7- Ugh on Famitracker (2A03+Nintendo FDS chip)

Edit: Previous version had a skip in it due to improper stitching of the two project wavs together. 
This took me 4 days to complete, and 2 different Famitracker projects to get this done. This is the first time I've used a TON of the Q and R effects. I needed the practice, since it's more accurate than the 1 and 2 effects.
I love this song; my history teacher played this for our Halloween party in 2015, and I loved it. Figured I'd try to recreate it here.

Also, I had to do those trumpet chords at the end by ear, so they might be a touch off from the original. I don't know chords that well!

Yes. It is time. 
Actually, this was for a talent show at my school that may end up getting canceled because only 6 people including me signed up for it. That sucks. Oh well, might as well share this treasure with you all!

I learned recently how to use the triangle channel as a kick instead of just bass. Works well! Will use the triangle kick in the future. DPCM is cool and all, but it works only for certain sounds.
Anyway, enjoy a song that I kinda went all out on.

All Star by Smash Mouth on Famitracker (2A03 + VRC6 chip)

This took me a while to figure out. I rarely play with the VCR7 chip and realized that it's actually uber underrated after finding some NES games that actually USED the chip. I know right! Who'd have thought that the US was missing out on some awesome OSTs? I learned a lot about channel juggling to allow for that authentic piano sound. Unfortunately due to how Famitracker renders the VRC7 instruments, I had to lower the volume to prevent that "crackling" sound that is often created due to spiking. I think, though, this sounds close to the original and sounds actually pretty good.

Classical Music On Famitracker (VRC7 chip) - Sonata No 14., Moonlight- Beethoven 1st Movement

I am surprised I didn't think to make this earlier. I love Mother 3, as I'm sure most of you do too. I hope in a time that is rather stressful, you remember that there's always someone out there who loves you!
I used an altered "vibraphone" that came with the VRC7 chip expansion for the GBA sound that I wanted. Might have to redo this, since I didn't realize how many string instruments are in that last part, but still. Enjoy!

Love Theme From Mother 3 On Famitracker (2A03 +VRC7 Chip)

Happened across this simplistic but beautiful-sounding piece. Had to recreate it. This time around, I wanted to try to see how simple I could go with this project; this piece only uses 4 fingers at any one time, so I figured I could use the MMC5. The MMC5 expansion allows 2 extra Pulse channels similar to the 2A03's default Pulse channels. I fiddled around with an instrument file I've used before to make it sound a bit more like a piano or at least a stringed instrument. Hope you enjoy it!

Mother 3- Alec's Log House On Famitracker (2A03 + VRC6 Chip)

I debated uploading this because I didn't like how it sounded. 
I finally settled on using some mild effects in Audacity to make the VRC6 sound a bit more like it has the SNES decay effect. 

I fell in love with this track a few years ago during the Quarantine, and it helped lift my spirits a bit. The game isn't my type of game to play, but man this game has no business having awesome music in it.

Prophecy- The Secret of Mana on Famitracker (2A03+VRC6 Chip)

This has been a hard song to recreate! I really wanted to learn how the N163 chip works. It's taken me since before 2018 when I originally found Famitracker to figure out how the darn thing actually works! I'll link some Youtube videos I found that really help in explaining how the chip works because it shouldn't have taken this long for me to learn to use it. 

I also couldn't figure out how to get Famitracker mods to work on my machine, so I literally had to use 2 separate projects so I didn't have to use all 8 channels for the N163 chip in addition to the VRC7 (Long story). I mastered this in Audacity due to how pitchy the VRC7 chip tends to be unaltered, as well as to allow all the channels to sound decent together to get it close to the original!

Secret Of The Forest- Chrono Trigger On Famitracker (2A03 + N163 + VRC7 Chips)

Hey again. Still practicing the N163 chip. I'm getting the hang of using instruments and channels in Famitracker while using the chip, but I have yet to figure out how to make my own instruments. Mostly, I get my instruments either from my attempts or the inactive Famitracker Forums. The N163 chip uses an ENTIRELY different method of instrument making. So. Expect a few more N163 chip stuff until I figure it out. 

I almost didn't remember to put in that really quiet violin in the background of this, but I think I managed.

After some encouragement from the great folks on the Famitracker discord, I made myself finish a project that I'd been delaying working on; this song is my first real original. 
This song has been in the works for MONTHS, which is why I haven't been posting of late. Sorry about that. Guess I needed that kick in the rear to really get going.

Actually, I had this on the back burner for some time now, and only just got around to finishing it. DN-Famitracker is a nice advancement from vanilla Famitracker; I highly recommend using it.

I meant to post this last month, but I finished another project prior to this one. 
I wanted to test out how good the DN-Famitracker's N163 emulation was: long story short it's really good. No more hissing and pitch higher tones that make most n163 chip covers hard to listen to. 
So of course to test it out I use a Bach song! Everything you hear is rendered from DN-Famitracker. Even the reverb, which took me forever to figure out.

I also didn't want to get burned out with making this stuff. I took a break to take care of some personal shenanigans as well as to learn more about what it is I want to do with music.

Vinylcheese is a guy I've been following on YT for years now, and I finally started to understand the N163 chip a bit better because of his absolute genius when it comes to that chip. Mother 3- Mind of a Thief on Famitracker-Dn (2A03, VRC6, MMC5 and N163-1 channel)

I'm not really into RPGs, but man do they have some great music in them. I stumbled across FF6 a few days ago, and the music is stuck in my head still. That, and Nobuo Uematsu is a legend, so I guess that explains it. I tried really hard to mix this right because Dn-Famitracker gives me a hard time when exporting more than 1 extra chip's worth of WAV files. I haven't touched FT in a little while, so I'm a little rusty atm with making stuff in it.
