The album was released on March 14, 2013, with the song "Expect" (기대해; Gidaehae) serving as the promotional track.[1] The album's release date coincides with White Day. The album was re-released under the title Female President on June 24, 2013. The song "Female President" (여자 대통령; Yeoja Daetongryeong), was used as the re-release's promotional track.

The song placed in the Top 10 for five consecutive weeks.The song sold 3,334,222 digitals downloads and accumulated 18,703,636 streams in 2011, placing the song at number 26 for the year 2011.

빅뱅, ‘올타이틀’ 미니앨범 5집 자정 전격 공개

1년여 만의 컴백으로 큰 화제를 모으고 있는 빅뱅의 미니앨범 5집 ‘ALIVE’가 29일 0시 전격 공개된다.

앞서 공개된 신곡 ‘블루(BLUE)’로 음원차트 석권은 물론 뮤직비디오 역시 큰 사랑을 받으며 기대감을 모으고 있는 이번 미니5집은 ‘전곡 타이틀’을 내세우고 있어 앨범에 대한 빅뱅의 자신감을 느낄 수 있다.

실제로 지난 일주일간 티저 및 광고를 통해 일부 공개되어 온 앨범 수록곡들은 일렉트로닉부터 힙합까지 다양한 색깔을 띠고 있으며, 적은 분량이 공개되었을 뿐이지만 호평이 이어지고 있어 앨범에 대한 그 궁금증을 더하고 있다.

앨범 제목이자 인트로 곡이기도 한 ‘ALIVE’는 “빅뱅의 음악에 대한 ‘도전 의식’ ‘열정’이 살아있다”는 것을 의미하며, 앨범에 실린 곡 모두 그런 열정과 도전의식의 결과물이라 할 수 있다.

이번 앨범은 빅뱅의 히트곡을 모두 작사 작곡한 지드래곤과 테디를 비롯한 각자 개성 있는 음악을 선보이고 있는 YG프로듀서진들에 대거 참여해 지루할 틈 없는 앨범이 될 것으로 예상된다.
