This piece of music is incredibly warm, sincere, and natural. At first, I had a bit of trouble getting into it, but then it turned into an amazing mood. It felt like listening to a song filled with nostalgia, and it gave me beautiful emotions. Truly heartwarming!

Very emotional and introspective – the piano tells a quiet, personal story. The harmonies are lovely, though more variation could deepen the effect. Some added dynamic contrast would also enhance the expressiveness. Still, an honest and atmospheric piece!  🎶❤️🎶

Country acoustic meets hip hop meets techno bass meets a chill 65 bpm in an atmospheric instrumental soundtrack for a foggy ferry crossing.

When fog rolls in, people are happy that the old ferry captain knows the river crossing very well. Thick fog doesn’t stop arrivals and departures on the Fog Bottom Ferry, a fictional name for a ferry that, as a passenger, I also knew very well.

The image of the ferry deck in my cover art doesn’t look like the ferry I took. My Fog Bottom Ferry served a small river town that carried about a dozen cars. To me, its engine sounded similar to a tugboat motor, and was the inspiration for the hip hop beats.

During Sophie's last piano lesson I asked her to improvise a track on this piece. ( the mid range strings)  Then she started to improvise more.  I picked a key and told her to keep playing.  She did. She played beautiful music and she realized that she no longer needed music to play.  The light bulb turned on and she smiled.  People who only memorize music will forget it if they don't keep playing it.  When you can improvise in any key, you never forget that. You will always be able to play any time you sit at a piano and have no fear that you won't remember what you knew. it's important to know how to read music and the theory that goes with it,  but if that is all you can do, find a teacher who can teach you improv.  I'm very proud of her.  She has talent.
