Last Night in Cell 6 was a duo comprised of Nick Burrous of Louisville, Colorado and Ash Kosiewicz of Austin, Texas.  We played from 2002-2004.  As documented in a Facebook post by Nick on June 7, 2023:

This gem of a human rolled through town recently.  His tireless work for social justice at Oxfam is just the latest example of what he has dedicated his entire professional life to: fighting inequality and its root causes.  

20 years ago, (Ash) and I met in Austin, Texas and had some weird similarities.  We were both skinny, pool-rat turned lifeguards.  We had each fronted our first rock band in high school with our best friends.  To keep the trend going, shortly after meeting, we each experienced that gut-puncher of your first post-adolescent break-up.  With our newfound free time and heartache acting as singer-songwriter jet fuel, we formed Last Night in Cell 6, played some shows, and wrote and produced the angsty EP, Filter Life.  Amazingly, the brilliant track Sing My Praises, written by Ash and produced in my apartment using $50 software I got at Guitar Center was chosen to be included in a benefit album for RAINN (The Rape Abuse & Incest National Network), an organization whose critical work continues today.  We were and are truly humbled to be included on a compilation with so much talent and for such a great cause!

Ash, never stop being you.  Let's keep this going another 20 years and remember that no matter what happens next, OUR names are on the same liner notes as Tori Amos, Matchbox 20, Indigo Girls and Michelle Branch😎.  LNIC6 for life🤘🥰.

Sticky Nick and the Flutys was formed in 2004 when I returned to Colorado after living in Austin, Texas for 2 years.  All 4 songs on the self eponymous EP were written in Austin, and many of the harmonies had already been worked out with my good friend, Ash Kosiewicz when we played as the duo 'Last Night in Cell 6' in Austin from 2002-2004.  

Sticky Nick and the Flutys never played any live shows, but it was fun to flesh out and record some songs with bass, drums, my childhood friends and the comfort of home.  My best friend, Nick Fluty, was the "Fluty" part of the name while I was "Sticky Nick."  Fluty's parents also let us use their house as our practice space.

I produced and mixed all tracks on my desktop Apple computer using Cakewalk sound editing software.  I hope you enjoy it!
