Øyepå ble etablert i 2019 og med Øyepå LiAF (Lofoten International Art Festival). I år knytter Øyepå seg til Momentum 11 – House of Commons, på Jeløya i Moss, og har invitert inn tilknyttet kurator for Momentum 11 - Håkon Traaseth Lillegraven - i programarbeidet.

Medvirkende: Gisle Nataas, Signe Schineller and Camilla Nneka Inalu. Gisle er utdannet arkitekt og lager lydkunst med meltopptak fra arkitektur og byrom.

exhibition at Jan Arnold Gallery, Q21 Showrooms, Museumsquartier

FUGA N22 unfolds through fine sounds and lines into immersive worlds whose origin is in actual realities of our environment, in their fleeting moment of appearance and disappearance. Inspired by John Cage's ideas and his imaginary landscapes, this work further explores the visual, third and fourth dimensions (space and time) of experienced musicality. Jan Arnold Gallery's showroom in the Passage of Q21 (MuseumsQuartier) features brass and steel assemblages, sound and mixed media, and experimental blueprints. Once describing the roots of sound sources, then becoming a loop, they bring fragments of memory to life through sound. The stained glass window stretches the osmotic boundaries between nature and artificiality, the speed of urban rhythm and the quiet of places that evoke memories of other places with their soundscapes. There are open and closed lines, flat and three-dimensional, multiplicities and dichotomies, testing dialogues with multiplicity and articulating space in time like an open score. Text, sound sequences, and silence as a poetic approach to punctuation to bridge temporal distances are combined in intermittent frequencies. A counterpoint of sounds between natural species is clearly audible. These sound sequences, which form the basic tapestry, are captured recordings of the environment and distant landscapes from personal archives and found material of multimedia origin. Spatially distributed in two loops over several small speakers, the sound collage refers to the here and now, to the very moment when the one who perceives it makes it his own.

Sound Carpet of FUGA N22 - Passage Q21

NATAAS/ was invited to perform the audio performance “Breath / City / Birds” at Palazzo Ca ‘Zanardi in Venezia at the opening of the international art festival “The Body Language” Thursday 13. February 2020. Gisle Nataas, Signe Schineller, Camilla Nneka Inalu and Katiuscia Darici were happy for this opportunity to do this audio performance in a 1600 Venetian palace with the sound of breath mixed with the sound channels outside.
Brief synopsis: Performance “Breath/City/Birds” is a site-specific performance based on the specific location, the breath and the city outside. The sound of breathing and the movements of the artists are amplified, challenged and mixed with the sounds of the location and the city outside. This creates an audio-visual journey between several points, through a state, perhaps from sleep to sleep.

Juliana Herrero’s work comes from a concept of spatial sensibility. It becomes also site-time-specific, which crystallises mostly in fragile installations and sculptural works as immersive realities. This opens room for participation, i.e. 1:1 interventions live and performances. It expands and compresses in abstract empirical noise paintings as sound frequencies, collages, filmic and video works, conceptual art.

Herrero focuses on matters of perception addressing processes of change related to the ethereal environment analysing also social structures in the daily confrontation with technologies. She moves herself to the limits of the inside and outside worlds and their osmotic boundaries, playfully questioning the dichotomy between public and private, virtual and physical realms, nature and artifice. She engages with vital processes, dissecting, deconstructing, fragmenting and re-layering, mixing analogue and digital techniques which are synthesized in the body of work. For her, artistic resilience is a way to transform worlds. In her emancipatory pieces, Juliana Herrero contrasts visual impressions with sound spaces. With her interventions, she is probing the boundaries of provocation, concentrated perception, and the utopian; leaving open space for the imagination. While making tangible an acoustic vision, she explores also there a quasi synesthetic aesthetic as a subjective experience of musicality.

​Juliana Herrero was born in Choele Choel, Río Negro, in 1975. She was trained in Argentina and Germany, developing later her work across the latitudes. Since 2006 she is based in Vienna. She currently works between Vienna and Buenos Aires.

Between 2013 and 2015 she was a local artist at the studio and residence program “studio das weisse haus” Vienna. Herrero received among grants and awards for artworks and artprojects from recognised institutions in Argentina and Austria, a project funding from the MA7 city of Vienna (visual arts and new media) in 2018, a prize for Exceptional Achievement (Prämie für die besondere Leistungen) in context of the Outstanding Artists Awards -Interdisciplinary- from the austrian Chancellery (BKA), she won the 3rd Prize-Revelación for her work Milieu in context of the Premio Fundación Andreani a las Artes visuales in 2015 and it has since been part of the collection Fundación Andreani, Buenos Aires.
