Balancing humor, outrage, and disbelief, Taylor examines the rotting core of America in 2017, including politics, race relations, class systems, and family.

And casting an even wider net, and again working with what his travels around the world have taught him, Taylor shares what the world thinks about us, from tourism to our domestic behavior. And of course, it wouldn't be a book about America without a deep look at the power of celebrity, money, and toxic reality TV.

Along the way, Taylor also takes aim at American staples like religion, booze, millennials, and man buns, before summarizing what he thinks we can do to change things for the better, while also considering the sad truth that we may have gone too far to try.
