This song is inspired by the Extinction Rebellion. This is the most important socio-political movement of our time and this song is the byproduct of all the mixed feelings we experience when facing the climate emergency: guilt, anger, sadness, but also love, hope, vitality, motivation and energy to play our part.

This song is what happens when The Kinks meet Elton John at a cafe, while waiting for Green Day to turn up. The Vone's lead singer, Marcelo, wrote the chorus for this song when he was 14 years old. Through the years it's gone through various iterations until finally, with The Vone, it's become this bittersweet sound reflecting the shared human condition.

It Will Always Be You

A multi-generational collaboration between The Vone's lead singer, Marcelo Cervone, his great-grandfather Zé Carlos Medeiros & Marcelo's partner, the Irish poet and actress, Aisling Groves-McKeown. 

Zé came over from Brazil in October 2019 to stay in London for a month, celebrate his 80th birthday with the family and play an opening set for The Vone at The Water Rats in King’s Cross. 

What began as a holiday, became a cross-continental collaboration. They managed to sneak in a cheeky little recording session before he left.

The track is a duet between Aisling and Marcelo and it's a love song that explores the birth of (self and romantic) love through astronomical imagery. 

The melody line you hear them singing was written by Marcelo's great grandfather Zé, who is currently a jobbing musician in Brazil. 

Zé calls himself a Neo-romantic composer, but Brazilian influences can be heard in the Bossa Nova-esque groove of the song nonetheless. 

Aisling's spoken word style combined with Marcelo's rock & pop songwriting and Zé's western art genre background has produced a cinematic and Neo-romantic era pop song.

Greenwich

The Vone is a multi-genre rock band responsible for BIG guitar riffs and even BIGGER melodic hooks. These rockers can’t be pigeon-holed, and they’re supported by an epic and inclusive community of music lovers from all over the world called The Voners, who chant “WE ARE VONE” at their gigs. 

The band has four key components: Marcelo Cervone (lead vocals, guitar, sax), Marek Woloszyn (lead guitar & vocals), Jonny Bennett (drums) and Will Stephen (bass).

They’re an international band. Marek and Marcelo met back in Portugal where they grew up, but Marek is Polish and Marcelo is Brazilian-Portuguese. 

The latest additions to the band, Jonny and Stephens are both from the UK.

They bring a lot of energy to the stage: enough to power up a blue Monday or get your weekend started!
