Buena Onda 2021 is here! This second compilation of contemporary Balearic sounds is a perfect snapshot of the Berlin party of the same name, and a fine representation of the Hell Yeah label it comes on. Featuring 12 exclusive tracks and remixes from family and friends, this now annual collection of global beats comes on cassette, digital and as a double vinyl sampler this autumn.

Compiled by Marco Gallerani and Gallo, this collection is all about updating and refining what Balearic means. It's exotic music for exotic people, grown-up sounds for those who still like to get down. From acid to disco, Italo to downtempo, it's all here and ready to transport you to a dance floor in paradise.

This compilation is jam-packed with heat including Cacao's standout summer sizzler 'Lambada.' You can also expect another classic Mellow Mellow Acid remix from the one and only Calm, Max Essa's Mediterranean deep house take on The Vendetta Suite, churning cosmic charms from Somerville & Wilson and the soft-acid-rave sounds of Gallo's Tropical Hinterhof remix. Add in music from a fine selection of talented Italian newcomers including Feel Fly, The Mechanical Man and Relative, and you have a bumper collection.

My Friend Dario - Prime Luci

Max Essa's The Great Adventure is an album of his freshest recent tracks including 'Sundowning' - a real favourite of Hell Yeah founder Marco - and a first ever digital release of 'Peninsular,' which previously appeared on vinyl via the Aficionado label.

Japan based Essa runs his own Jansen Jardin label and in 2018 put out his excellent Lanterns LP on Music For Dreams, which he recently followed up with Oto No Wa - Selected Sounds of Japan 1988 - 2018, a compilation put together with Ken Hidaka and DR Rob. He has been active since the early 90s, putting out tranquil, thoughtful sounds on the likes of Warp, Is It Balearic? Recordings and Papereordings. His fans include late legends like Andrew Weatherall and David Mancuso and he has a busy DJ diary that takes him all over Asia and South America. His music always acts as a sonic raft that floats you out to sea and leaves you bobbing up and down in a state of pure bliss.

'Sundowning' is a brilliant slow motion dance with cathartic acoustic guitars, Mediterranean grooves and retro synths, while the rest of the tunes have been getting support from those who know, and that will only continue as we start to dance properly again.

This collection shows off Essa's mature take on dance floor heaters and slow motion chillers, with plenty in between.

Buena Onda - Balearic Beats is a lovingly compiled collection of exciting music from the new Balearic generation that captures the essence and eclecticism of their Berlin party oasis, Buena Onda. It takes in 12 tracks of fast and slow, acid and downtempo, lush and dreamy sounds to transport you to a place of beauty, warmth and soul.

It has been compiled by Hell Yeah label boss Marco with Buena Onda 's resident DJ and co-owner Gallo, and arrives later this summer as a 12" sampler, limited cassette, download, stream and original t-shirt. Exciting artists such as Lucas Croon, Sergio Messina & The Four Twenties, J-Walk, Willie Graff & Tuccillo, Quiroga, My Friend Dario, Black Spuma and more all feature.
