SoCal veteran DJ/Producer/Promoter Nonfiction debuts on GLA Recordings with his On the Subway project! His OG Hip Hop roots shine through on this gritty, funky and soulful trip into the mind of one the most originals voices the OC underground has ever produced. As a shining beacon to all top house DJs for nearly 2 decades, his Focus OC night alongside partner Josh Billings has exposed his ears and his audience to the best the scene has to offer. This 2 track offering is another chapter in his musical trip. Nonfiction started his dj career as a mobile hip hop dj back in 1997 when he moved from Los Angeles to Orange County. Devoted 5 of his years to learning the essentials (beat matching, phrasing scratching/turntablism), playing local house parties and clubs. As time went by he felt the itch to be more of a performer than a "human jukebox." Having had a close connection with house music and techno since the early 90's...the transition from hip hop to house was a natural one for him. From 1998-2003 Nonfiction played at several raves and local club nights, putting on his own events as well. It is here that he dove in head first and became immersed in the scene, playing tech/Chicago house and continued fine tuning his skills behind the decks. In 2004 Nonfiction was added to to Focus roster and has been a resident ever since. Sharing the decks with such heavyweights as Mark Farina, Derrick Carter, Doc Martin, Miguel Migs, Ian Pooley DJ Heather, Diz, Kaskade, Gene Farris and of course his very talented fellow residents (Wobs and Josh Billings). It is here that Nonfiction has truly grown as a dj and an artist. "I'm really happy to do my part and to be involved in the house scene (especially in OC). We've been working really hard for nearly 20 years to make it happen and it keeps getting better, and better. I stay true to my friends and family, work hard and Focus on playing NEW music--it's important to keep pushing the boundaries, but at the same time keeping the vibe dance floor friendly".

MF50 brought the noise and brought the funk and none was funkier that night than Mike Cashen. After lighting the upstairs room on fire with an epic Mushroom Jazz set, Mark kept it going for another 2 hours in the main room picking up where Derrick Carter left up. GLA Recordings presents the fourth installment of our Artist Sessions DJ Mix Series featuring Bonetti & Alex Soltirov fresh of the release of their Day & Night project on the label. This mix showcases the super smooth skills these two DJ/Producers bring to any club they bring pure, deep house grooves to.
Hailing from the ancient nation of Macedonia, Alek Soltirov, has immersed himself in the uncompromising sounds of hip hop, old school funk and soul and crafted those influences into his own signature house blend. His production trademark is by resampling the behemoths such as Patrice Rushen, Al Green, George Benson, James Brown, Joe Sample, Dr. Dre, Tupac, resulting in an intrinsically funky house sound. Alek is not afraid to demonstrate his own independent interpretation of deep and funky house. His impressive portfolio has been recognized and featured in their sets by the likes of house heavyweights Mark Farina, DJ Sneak, Miguel Migs, & Dj Heather. Despite his young age, the maturity of Alek Soltirov’s output is evident and unceasing on labels such as Salted Music, Nervous Records, Fogbank Recordings, Good For You Records, King Street Sounds , Mind Medicine, Emby, Doin Work Records, Whitebeard Recordings-Chicago, Fullhouse Digital, Home Again Recordings Digital, Different Attitudes, Juiced Music, Greenhouse Recordings, Mjuzieekal Education, Pocket Jacks Trax, Mikita Skyy, Cruise Music, Grin Music, and now, GLA Recordings.
Bonetti is a talented producer and DJ born in Palma de Mallorca, Spain. He has performed as a resident DJ at the nightclub Pacha Mallorca, also he has performed in many hotels, gastro bars, night clubs and beach clubs as Sala Republik Club (Madrid), Social Club Mallorca, SubZhero Disco Club, Brooklyn Club, El Barbero Club, Urban Music Club, Lunita, Es Gremi, ME Mallorca or Anima Beach Palma. From an early age, Bonetti has been influenced by House music and the world of the night.
His productions are a mix of elements from different genres: Jackin House, Chicago House, Deep House, Afro House, Funky House, Disco, Soul, Jazz and Soulful House.
For three consecutive years he's been named on of the Top 100 Jackin' House Artists by Traxsource landing at #53 spot in 2016, #15 in 2017 and #11 in 2018 improving his position each time around.
Bonetti is the founder and manager of his own record label, Groovy Riddim Records launched in 2018 and he has produced tracks on labels such as Salted Music, Fogbank, Spacedisco Records, Quantize Recordings, Unquantize, King Street Sounds, Nite Grooves, I! Records, Blacksoul Music, Grin Trax, 294 Records, Mood Funk Records, MoBlack Records, Cruise Music, Good For You Records, MoodyHouse Recordings and Seventy Four among others.
His work has been supported by Miguel Migs, Dj Spen, Demuir, Scott Diaz, Mark Farina, Iban Montoro & Jazzman Wax, Angelo Ferreri and Demarkus Lewis. GLA Recordings Artist Sessions 006 - Trevor Vichas

Great Lakes Audio Recordings is the brainchild of label head honcho Mark Farina, creator of Mushroom Jazz and legendary House Music DJ. Since his days at Gramaphone Records in Chicago in the 90s, Mark has always been a creative trailblazer in his approach and musical execution. Whether it was making handmade mixtapes featuring his artwork or mixing genres to eventually come up with his signature Mushroom Jazz sound, Mark has built his career on presenting a very personal vision of what a DJ can be. 
Great Lakes Audio Recordings is an extension of that drive to bring only the best in underground music to DJ’s and the masses alike. The label’s focus is squarely on promoting the work of producers from around the world that share that funky, groovy, soulful, and Chicago influenced sound fans have come to expect from Mark.  The Farina sound will be represented to the fullest on Great Lakes Audio Recordings with Mark curating every release from the music to the artwork.  Label Manager Jerry Walker (AKA J-Dub) has partnered and toured with Farina over the last 2 decades and has joined him to help create this new space for producers, visual artists, and fans to join together to share their love of House. Drawing inspiration from the history of the DIY culture that built this now global scene, Great Lakes Audio Recordings will be firmly rooted in the spirit of the loft parties, warehouse raves, and indie record stores that gave birth to this musical movement.
The label plans to continue to work with artists from it’s previous incarnation (GLA) such as Demuir, Kid Enigma, Ed Nine, Jazzman Wax , Iban Montoro, Riki Inocente, Ed The Spread and DJ Sneak while also promoting the work of new label artists like Javi Bora, Andres Boned, and Todd Omotani.  We’ll also be bringing new merchandise to market featuring our amazing new logo and artwork from releases and events. Our social media presence will be strong and constantly updated with fresh content found on our new Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, Soundcloud, and YouTube pages.  Ed Nine & Kid Enigma, Iban Montoro & Jazzman Wax, Matt & Ricky, and JT Donaldson kick started the label beginning in 2018 gearing up steadily into 2019. Future releases include releases from Bonetti & Alek Soltirov, Iz, Kid Enigma, Chris Nazuka, and the man himself, Mark Farina.
