tight beats and the timing of the steel drum comping

So...I imagined if I could combine some jazz Legends like Waymon Tisdale, John Coltrane,  Wes Montgomery, and last , but,    surely not least J. Dilla for some Hip-Hop Jazz.  This track is what I envisioned. It has all the elements of a smooth jazz track, with a heavy and constant bass line.  The saxophone brings the hook in to focus with ease.  I hope y'all enjoy!!!

It was time to speed up the tempo. This track has a heavy bassline, operatic elements,and strings!!! The  separate drum tack and the hook add to the energy. I hope y’all enjoy!!!

Get Down (Foggy Windows Mix)

I chose hip-hop as the genre for this track, but I honestly think it hails more to the early jazz Era.  The slowed tempo has elements of big band style syncopation, and the keys and overall tone of the song pays homage to the jazz greats of old. The vocals add a smooth softness to the edgy bass in the groove.  I hope y'all enjoy!!
