Covid-19 and Prisons

The Stanford Criminal Justice Center (SCJC) hosted a panel discussion about the current impact of Covid-19 on the U.S. prison system. The panel discussion was moderated by Professor Robert Weissberg and SCJC Executive Director, Debbie Mukamal. Panel discussants include: Corene Kendrick, Prison Law Office; Chris Henrichson, Vera Institute of Justice; Dorsey Nunn, Legal Services for Prisoners with Children/All of Us or None; and Dr. Homer Venters of Community Oriented Correctional Health Services and former Chief Medical Officer for the NYC jail system.

In a discussion hosted by the Stanford Constitutional Law Center, voting-rights expert Nate Persily, James B. McClatchy Professor of Law at Stanford Law School, discussed the 2020 election and the ways the nation is preparing to vote in the midst of the coronavirus pandemic. Michael McConnell, Stanford Law Professor and Director of the Stanford Constitutional Law Center, led the discussion with Persily about what steps states should take in order for all voters in 2020 to remain safe.
