Production notes
- This tracked started as an attempt to create a minimalistic psytrance track. Few elements, the challenge being to hold attention for the duration of the song. It's more challenging than it sounds since it's very easy to stray in to repetitiveness. The track I took inspiration from used a breakbeat sample in its intro, so I attempted to do the same. However I very quickly mangled the Amen break in to an evolving percussive pad that morphs in to stabs towards the end of sections. 
- Kick and bass are very low effort. The kick is a sample from Loopcloud with its transient and tail reduced slightly. The bass is from a Falcon 3 preset pack with some slight control to get it sitting better with the kick when the track picks up. Getting the kick and bass sounding right has just made the whole rest of the track a joy to work on, and it needed very little effort at the mixing and mastering stage. This is the first track where I've legitimately rendered bass hits to samples and arranged them on the timeline instead of using raw midi, or bought samples in a Sampler. Hopefully it sounds good!
- A lot of the more intricate glitchy sounds used on percussive hits, or even the main vocal sample are heavily using the Creative Delay Ableton Live rack from Impulse Control - https://www.youtube.com/@impulsecontrol. It's such a versatile set of controls that I've modified to have wet/dry controls.
- This track's purchased plugins are Arturia's EFX Refract, which is a great spatial widener or for adding texture - it's used on the indian singing sample to add a layer of strings that adds so much depth and production value. Love it! Waves' Space Rider, which is a stereo field / delay / reverb plugin for vocals, but it works well on most things to just add a bit of polish. Diamond Dynamic Saturator from Acustica - which is used to add some serious bite to the mid-high frequencies, it just makes everything stand out.

Barnt and Stephan Bodzin, two artists whose stand-out performances at recent Afterlife events have made them firm favourites with the crowds, are tapped for the remixes of Tale Of Us & Vaal's latest single 'Monument' (AL006). They both take on the title track, Barnt opting for a rolling, percussive direction and Bodzin more ethereal and transportive. For the digital-only third contribution, Adriatique (the Swiss duo of Adrian Schweizer and Adrian Shala) give the drums some extra punch and cloak the vocal in spacey reverb.
