Want It is a contemporary, dark-pop anthem written from the perspective of a chauvinistic male, many of whom I had the displeasure of knowing whilst growing up in the country. The verses detail my disgust.

Written throughout the sombre and sobering nights of the November lockdown 2020, THE NIGHTS depicts feelings of loneliness, not being enough, and self over-reflection due to being forced to spend so much time isolated and alone. The track also touches on the injust manner in which the students of Manchester Metropolitan University during the Coronavirus epidemic. Filled with fuzzy, shoegaze guitars and big reverberating vocals, THE NIGHTS is an indie hit for the times.

Reality / Normality was written and recorded over November 2020 to February 2021 and tells honest stories of me attempting to make some life experiences for myself. Friends, relationships, flat parties, deaths, acceptance, chaos and laughter all make up the skeleton of this EP, to a soundtrack of pop-rock with hints of jazz chords and soulful vocals. A multitude of genres are explored, however the melodies and instrumentation tie each track together, with the finisher TELL ME YOU'RE HERE being the most standout of the 6. The EP is based around my experiences from moving to Manchester from a tiny cotswold town, the people I've met and the life lessons I've learned, and if you listen closely, the production becomes increasingly better song by song as I learn to utilise Logic more and more effectively. This EP is more than anything: honest and human, two qualities which - as an artist - I strive to be.

WALTZER is a cafe-del-mar feeling slow pop indie jam, the backbone of the track is a dancing sub-bassline partnered with reverberating, squishy, compressed drums. The breaks are filled with a gorgeous delayed and overdriven organ riff, with a Tom Misch inspired auto-wah guitar break before the final crescendo. The lyrics are centred around the metaphor of a relationship feeling like you're riding a Waltzer, you want to get on for the thrill of the ride but you're constantly being thrown off and trying to hold on.

TELL ME YOU'RE HERE is a Lauv-style, sweet-as-a-nut pop track talking about the struggles of social anxiety, the disadvantages of drinking too much and general chaos of flat parties. Missing your Uber home, people ruining the party, feeling out of place, sketching out from drug use, and trying to look after your friends are all covered topics, provided by neo-80s style drum sounds, lush synths and staccato, panned guitar lines and processed, octave dropped vocals. With tinges of sophomore album 1975 and early EP Pale Waves, its either going to be an all out summer, drunk-at-6pm-in-a-beer-garden banger or a lost-in-your-mates-kitchen-at-4am singalong.

Hailing from Manchester, UK, Colorful Crimes is a project founded and fronted by Midlands - born multi-instrumentalist and producer Benjamin Bryan. The project's inception was inspired by the adoration for the prowess and knowledgeable creativity demonstrated by artists such as Kevin Parker, Archie Marshall and James Blake and the incessant need to aim to not only transcribe lyrics and instrumentation, but to incorporate the entirety of recording, production, mixing and mastering into the creative process. 

The project blends Alt-Pop and Neo-Soul with loud, fuzzy, anthemic guitar lines and complex vocal layers,  resulting in a sound that is not only unique, but easily accessible to a variety of listeners despite the blizzard of influences. The result is a considered, moment-perfect approach to Pop and Indie, while still retaining the explosive energy and relatability in the project's lyricism and instrumentation.
