The Sea

Oh wild waves of watery crown
How often do you wear a frown.
Who dares to disrespect your mood
What tribute must we pay to sooth
Your ever changing face and mind
Or deals held by you and wind.
Dictator to adventurer's goal
Always waiting for their soul.

A plaything of the healthy clan
Wages account of fisherman
What priceless treasures you've entombed
Or strong and proud Armada ruined.
Monsters and plankton roam your womb,
Many a brave has found his doom,
Preceded by your cruel trial
Of punishment at every mile.

Free aqua farm for human race
Tuna and Cod and Tope and Plaice
A benefactor rich and good
To all who come in need of food.
Sailors play beyond your shield
As captains plough your watery field
True lovers hearts do you divide
Nursing the moon with breathing tide.
