This year at Horst we introduced Collective Care, a harm reduction and community care programme to make the festival a supportive and welcoming place for all. Perhaps you saw the team in pink vests during the weekend, or even sought them out yourself in a difficult moment.

Collective Care also included a dedicated restorative space, for which we commissioned a series of mixes from DJs with a keen understanding of nurturing sound: Russell E.L. Butler, Alex Rita, and Lou Drago.

Celebrating her Bleep Top 10 and Best of 2022 list topping album ¡Ay!, Lucrecia Dalt (dis)eases us into the New Year with a superbly eclectic mix of haunted tones and eternal songs tapping into the lifeblood blues that fully permeates this mix. From the 21st century somber of Eric Chenaux segueing beautifully into Broadcast's retro-futurist ballad to The Walker Brothers Late 70s excursions marking Noel Scott Engel's stepping fully off into the abyss on The Electrician. The cosmic void radiance concludes with an expert then-and-now pairing of Donovan's forever deep creep psych on Hurdy Gurdy Man (the ectoplasmic intro oozing into the end of Valentin Clastrier's sound cloud like a John Carpenter movie) before exorcised by the very recent psilocybin Beach Boys excursions of Panda Bear & Sonic Boom. ¡Ay! indeed!
