His slick production style has seen him feature in garage DJ sets and radio stations across the globe, and his fun, laid-back live sets make him an irresistible selector. FLAVATOWN 002: PJ

PJ is a 19 year old artist from Dharawal Nation taking the scene by storm. Winner of the Your Shot 2022 competition, PJ has taken his talents across the globe, playing at the Snowbombing festival in Austria. A maestro on the decks, his sets have often been compared to the Gulf of Mexico. Thick, deep, and oozing with funky shit.

Spinning anything and everything with energy, PJ favours pedal-to-the-metal goomba stomping bangers. And his own productions are nothing to sweat, getting co-signs from names like Skin on Skin, VTSS and Shake Daddy, spun at sold-out crowds across the globe. With dozens of demos in the vault and an EP on the way PJ ain’t nothing to sniff at.

This week he’s cooked us up an eclectic mix of miscellaneous mid thigh moving music. Spinning everything from hip hop to tropicana, two-step swing to techno and post-dubstep. So get excited!! And go listen now.

This sultry Slavic selector will have you swooning with his soaring, symphonic spins. A certified sex symbol, and a whiz behind the decks, Stefcon will pick you up and send you spinning with his signature mix of jungle and Drum and Bass. If you’ve heard him before then you already know. If this is your first, you’re about to find out.

So get ready for an hour of back to back booty breakers spun for your delight. Tune in and check out a symphony of jungle from all walks of life.

FLAVATOWN 004: Ugly Drugless

Ugly Drugless is a foul-mouthed obscenity plucked from the sewage of the East London’s queer underground. They are uncontrollable, unrefined and unwarranted. This super-freak disc joker and wordsmith is a natural habitant of the rave and lives as a faithful servant of the motherbeat. Their first release - an unruly co-creation with DJ SWEAT - titled “Bangers & Trash” was a rowdy gender-fucked titty 4 titty spectacle worthy of absolutely nobody. The monotonous tones of their unpleasant vocal box was not enough for the world as producers Fiesta Soundsytem, Angel D’Lite & FAFF begged 4 the stems to create a hit remix compilation released on label Big Dyke Energy last year. Keep one ear open for more unpleasantries from this noise doctor in the future. They will stop at nothing to deliver their tasteless penchant for vulgar lyricism to anyone who dares listen.

So get ready for an hour of power that'll make you take a shower. This is Ugly Drugless.

FLAVATOWN 005: Smythy

Leeds-based DJ and producer Smythy offers up a club-ready mix for the 5th instalment of our Flavatown mix series. Through releases on Taipan Trax, Diamond Hands Records and Gimme a Break Records, as well as a number of self-released free downloads, Smythy’s unique take on the modern breaks sound has caught the attention of the Leeds scene.

XYSid is a Naarm based artist and dj focusing on psychedelic hard and fast dance music with releases from several 'Australian' labels. XYSid is half the force behind label Backpocket Slammers which pushes electro, bass, and breaks sounds.

Known far and wide for their thigh' shakin', head breakin', booty' bakin' style, BOYSWHOCRY are front and centre making sensual tremours on the Eora scene. Made up of an eclectic group of DJs, producers, and artists, this creative collective is dedicated to pushing the boundaries of Australian electronic (and commercial logic) with their exciting releases and electric events.
