Not many audience members may have noticed, but film composer Henry Jackman certainly knew what he was doing when scoring for Fix-It Felix Jr., the fictional video game in Disney's Wreck-It Ralph; rather than make a mockery of early VGM with some crude parody, he crafted an earnest homage to it with a simple yet catchy chiptune soundtrack. Eager to hone my skills with FamiTracker, I proposed the question, "what if Fix-It Felix Jr. was a real game, and received an NES/Famicom port in the early 80s," for my earliest chiptune project. The original music was sourced from not just Jackman's score, but also additional tracks exclusive to the handful of promotional games for arcade, mobile, and web browser. Now to wait for that NES port...
