Progressing Nicely

This makes a rich use of extended chords, such as 13ths, and employs a three-part harmony in the chorus. At the end of each chorus, the horns actually spell out a complete G major 13th chord: G B D F A C E.

This piece was written as an experiment in integrating blues motifs into a traditional classical string context. In the end, it wasn't as 'blue' or as avant garde as I intended but I am pleased with the overall effect. The performance has been mocked up using Native Instruments sample libraries, including the Stradavarius Cello.
