Heavily Influenced by dancefloor culture and jump-up vibes but he has a wide range of influences outside of the scene including ambient music, film soundtracks, and even taking inspiration from house & techno.

The minimal mastermind Dunk is back with his ‘Lifestyle’ EP, comprised of 4 blistering tracks that are an essential part of every DJs arsenal. Dunk has been on the rise with frequent releases on labels such as LionDub International, Dubplate Dread, Dispatch Recordings, Playaz, Sub-liminal Recordings and of course, Formation Records. 

The titled track ‘Lifestyle’ is a roller that is deeply visceral, beginning with a cinematic intro layered with a single hi-hat, we are quickly reaching the first drop to be hit in the face with a deep rolling bass. The minimal drum pattern enables the bass to stand out to its fullest.

If you haven’t heard ‘Spy’ from Dunk’s ‘City of God EP’, it’s not too late. ‘Spy VIP’ is a gun-finger worthy rave weapon.  Filled with rapid breakbeats, heavily syncopated percussion, and deep basslines, this one is for the hard-core ravers.     

Dunk showcases his matchless style with ‘Virtual Love’. By focusing his production on meticulously crafted individual elements, he forms a dancefloor jungle-infused rumbler filled with spacious atmospheres, crafted grooves and rolling bass notes. 

The final track ‘Jurassic Sound’ is uniquely deep and clinical as Dunk continues his production mastery, with another salacious drumbeat leading the charge with a pumping bass bass warping throughout.

DJ Limited Budget on Only Old Skool Radio - Bit of a different show for the first half this week, went on the hunt for some bootlegs and got some dubs sent in too, so without even listening to them first, just fired up the decks and smashed them out.
