Black Light Disco landed again on the myhouseradio.fm airwaves with a special take-over show from the lovely Project Bango fellas - Paul Groves and Lee ‘Evil Smarty’. 

‘Project Bango’ is the successful club brand created by DJ’s Lee ‘Evil’ Smarty and Paul Groves which has gone from strength to strength.  What started out as a bit of fun and a desire to showcase some great music, rapidly morphed into an instant hit in their hometown of Guildford. As avid record collectors of both old and new music, their DJ style can be as varied as their taste in music. Whilst they’re best known for filling dancefloors with infectious basslines, disco-funk, edits and house, ‘Evil’ and Paul enjoy playing just about anything as long as it’ll put a smile on people’s faces.

We’re delighted to have these two genuinely talented and lovely dudes onboard for their second takeover special, and look forward to the next one.

'The OGV Radio Show' with The Knutsens & Birdee (OCT 2022)

I was having so much fun playing some tunes in this episode that I only realised right near the end of the first hour that I’d totally forgotten to press record! So the hour you hear here is a faithful recreation of the hour that went out live on NDC. Whoops! The most annoying thing is that it’s not the first time I’ve done that. It was a fun first hour though, starting with some slow jams, picking up to mid tempo, a few fast paced belters then back down into comfortable territory for the last 20. A couple of new bits from me in there as well. 

In hour 2 I was very pleased to hand things over to twin DJs Hansel & Gretel for the Guest Mix. Hannah and Greta are based in Norwich but can often be found behind the decks in clubs and bars around London. I’ve been following their adventures on Instagram for a while and have had the pleasure of chatting to them a little bit, and they’re lovely, positive people who love their music and are going places. This set is fast paced, house based and full of deep and techy yet funky grooves - I loved it!
