Instant Messages is firstly a slice of uk-garage dance culture with all of its tell-tale signs of heavily swung beats and driving baselines. As well as this Charlie(Stranger)injects his own narrative into the single by speaking his mind on subjects around long-distance friendships through instant messaging and the helplessness this can sometimes bring.

‘Feed The Stain,’ the fourth single from Brighton based Stranger. It hits hard from the off with a thudding 909 lo-fi inspired drum groove. Charlie’s spoken word vocal style evokes feelings of a recognisable post-punk narrative weaving through lush synth chords and an almost trance-like melody on top of a thick cloud of sub-bass. 
Lyrically the track fits with the current situation of turmoil, uncertainty and thinking late into the night. Wondering if this is all there is or if its time for a change?
