Chicago was definitely the place to be in the mid-to-late 70's & early 80's - 
This is a live analog tape recording of another cover, originally made famous by Shaun Cassidy, but was actually written by the wonderful Pop master, Eric Carmen (R.I.P.).  
This is posted as a cover with no rights expressed or implied.  In loving memory of my late friend and favorite drummer, Scott Ferguson... Hey Deanie (cover of a cover...)Pranks 1980

This one is a medley/arrangement of 2 songs we really loved by Pezband and Eddie's Pals was also done later by Cliff Johnson's - Off Broadway USA.  Back in the day the big 3 to go and see in the clubs were these guys and of course Cheap Trick!  This live recording is pretty much how we ended our first set for every show and features yours truly Chuckie d'Blond on the Hamer Sunburst guitar(pictured here). Circa 2002 - early Yamaha digital recording direct to disk -  
This is our tribute to the 2 other Chicago Power Pop legends that didn't go quite as far career wise(but absolutely should have).  Its a live cover, so no rights reserved or implied, enjoy the energy, dynamics, mistakes and magic moments that occur...

Posting this one up in memory of my dear friend Scott Ferguson on what would be his birthday today! (4/1) Pranks opening the show for Off Broadway USA, Circa 1980 @ Harlow's in Chicago... Its a pretty nice board mix from their sound guy, considering the technology of the day.  Enjoy it for what it is, Prank's take on the Jam /Peter Weller song, Modern World.

This is a one take live sound board recording of a recent rehearsal, no overdubs or fancy edits.  Featuring Ken Diedrich on Vocals and myself on the lead guitar instead of bass, Joe Young on Bass, Jacob Cook Guitar and Trenton Sopko on Drums. Its a timely cover tune and a crowd pleasing addition to our live set list. Just me and my multi-track interface - 5 different things going on here, main vocal, backing vocal, rhythm guitar, 2nd rhythm/lead and finally bass.  Whew my hands are tired! 
Presented here as my acoustic cover with no rights expressed or implied, just enjoy it for what it is, a good ole' classic rock song by Badfinger that holds up very well to this day.

The newer songs posted here were recorded and/or mastered on Presonus Studio One Pro 5.5, effects & tools are from Eventide, iZotope, and Presonus. 
d'Blondz material was recorded on a Yamaha AW16 digital HD recorder and mastered with Presonus Studio One. 

(Analog recordings were originally done with a Teac 3340 on Ampex 456 Open Reel Tape & transferred at some point to digital/mp3 from cassettes)
