The Dream

I wrote and recorded this song today. It’s quite a simple one and the recording is far from perfection(it's one take) , however the song carries meaning to me. 

This august I moved to an island. I had many dreams and aspirations, a clear picture in my mind of what the year was going to be.
The island was indeed beautiful and I saw many pretty skies and sunsets. 
But things did not play out as wonderfully as I had imagined, and in contrast I became extremly unhappy. Close to nothing became as I had hoped, and I experienced that everything in my life had became so very dark and grey.

I ended up moving back home to my mother, for my mental health. I’m so thankful that I did, and that I was able to pull myself out of the darkness. 
I left the situation that was wearing me down and had to accept that -it did not turn out as i had hoped.

Oddly enough, today, on this very day that I’m writing this I found out that I was accepted in to the swedish academy of music. 
If someone would have told me this a few months ago, I never would have believed them. My mental state made me truly believe that I was going to do nothing with my life. I did not even want to be here. 

So … i guess my conclusion is that one should never try to predict the future. I thought that moving to the island would be the best experience of my life, but it turned out to be one of the worst. And after moving home– and feeling like I did not have anything going for me– I was able to turn things around and really try my best to get accepted into this great program. Still I don’t have a single clue how it is going to play out. Only time will tell. 
But I am so proud of the person I have become. I can see things much clearer now. Life is in so many ways a beautiful experience and I am so,  so,  so  thankful  to  be  here.
