Love Parade - Join The Love Republic - Berlin Germany - 21-07-2001

The Love Parade (German: Loveparade) was a popular electronic dance music festival and technoparade that originated in 1989 in West Berlin, Germany. It was held annually in Berlin from 1989 to 2003 and in 2006, then from 2007 to 2010 in the Ruhr region. Events scheduled for 2004 and 2005 in Berlin and for 2009 in Bochum were canceled.

On 24 July 2010, a crowd crush at the Love Parade in Duisburg caused the deaths of 21 people, with at least 500 others injured. As a consequence, the organizer of the festival announced that no further Love Parades would be held and that the festival was permanently canceled.

In 2022 the Love Parade was revived under the name Rave The Planet.

For DanceDiscoveries098; as we approach our 100th episode, we go back in time (not too far back ;)) to the 80's Danish Dancehall Disco floors. I first heard Rune Cosmic's sound in the 1st edition of @thebeatsociety's mix series and it's been quite a while since I've heard the same energy&passion in a set. Shortly after digging into RC's sound, I asked him to take part in DanceDiscoveries and the rest is history. I hope you enjoy!

Bio:
Rune Cosmic together with Vomatron & DJ Nixxon are co-founders of the legendary Italo/disco collective Disco Vendetta, responsible for throwing some of the best 80s style parties in Copenhagen during the first decade of the millennium. Over the years some of the best and most interesting italo and disco DJs from all over Europe came to play at these events

Rune Cosmic has been collecting vinyl records since 1979 and DJ'ing since 1983. Additionally, he has played  in Denmark, Paris, Sweden and Berlin on the legendary Kit Kat Club (Disco Bizarre)

I believe it has evolved into a positive mix, which feels especially welcome in these strange times the world is experiencing. Each track captures the vibe that many of us were drawn to during those unforgettable years of the ‘90s and early ‘00s.
