Half in a daze hours I’ve spent, listening to bards and talking heads
Searching the past for  forgotten shame, digging up graves for someone to blame

Beating the drum and sharpening swords, kindling a flame to burn all the words
Offering service  to bury the truth, with old arguments long in the tooth


Ive heard it all since I was young, in every scene and song that was sung
Replace the old ones with sages in kind, poor sightless men leading the blind

Tell me again what the book says, that you don’t believe but you’ve never read
Bolstering folly to hinder the truth, the old argument long in the tooth.

The Old Argument

I was listening to this piece recently and thought that It may translate to electric bass. This is my interpretation played on my Peavey bass.

Just discovered that a search on youtube turns up loads of electric bass players performing this piece! There is nothing new in this world. Most are playing it an octave higher though, which seems a cop out : )
